Have you ever heard of the clothing company, ModCloth? If you haven't, you need to start browsing their amazing selections ASAP! They produce the perfect mix of modern & vintage with a nice polished finish. I've drooled over ModCloth for years now but I could never afford anything to be honest. But recently they had a HUGE 70% off sale so I just could not resist.
I spent a total of 80$ & purchased five different pieces: 2 dresses, 2 tops and 1 skirt. For my entire life, I've always just bought the cheapest of the cheap with a coupon on a sale day....on clearance. If you catch my drift. But buying these things from ModCloth has made me realize that if you invest a little more into what you're going to wear on a daily basis - you will definitely get more bang for your buck! I'm not saying to go and buy only name brands or anything, you should for sure be cautious of sales & things of that nature, but I have never worn clothes that feel so high quality before. Most of my wardrobe I have had for 7+ years (seriously!) & I have to take the most peculiar care of each piece, or else I'd be replacing my clothes all the time from careless upkeep. These pieces I received from ModCloth I know I have to wash delicately and air dry, but I won't feel so restrained to tip toe around in my clothes from fear of them wearing too quickly.
So let's get a close up shall we?!
This is the first dress & it falls right above my knees - ideal for work. The fabric is a silky material that is oh so comfy & light for hot working days. This piece also is amazing for any season - you can wear it dressy or casual, layered or just by itself. I live for multi-use pieces ^.^
The other dress I bought is personally my favorite buy of everything. It has a black, textured peter pan collar and buttons around in the back. The material right above the chest is sheer and thin which really gives a nice blocking to the bold print that makes up the rest of the dress. It came with a dark blue, plastic belt that actually looks very cute! Again with this dress you can wear it during all seasons - with tights, boots, heels, flats, sandals, a sweater, you name it! It is great for a night out or a full 8 hour working day.
I purchased one skirt that goes to my knees and is very flirty with the way it moves while you walk. It looks just like lace but it's actually just a print so I surprisingly enjoy that because you don't have to be so cautious throughout the day of the lace tugging or ripping. It also has pockets - I wish more women's clothing had built in pockets!
The last two things I bought are a basic black crop top & a black lace top. The crop top is as high end for crop tops as it gets - comfortable & goes with everything. The lace top is so, SO cute! It has bows on the sleeves and you could either wear a bandeau underneath or a tank. I personally prefer a tank.
Why aren't you on ModCloth RIGHT now? You will not regret it! I'd wait for their items to go on sale, otherwise you may be spending a pretty penny. But if you want to treat yourself, go for it! All returns are accepted (accept for big sales like the one they just had), but they allow buyers to post pictures of themselves in their new clothes & write reviews for them too - so you can always get honest feedback for each thing before you buy it. Happy shopping!
