Saints Row Review

So, in case you haven't heard...I'm kind of a nerd. (Did you read the title of the blog you're reading....?) The absolute cliche kind actually. Gaming has always been a HUGE part of my life & I want to start sharing what I'm playing, what I'm excited for, & reviews of video games on here! Or just anything involving games I guess.

I'm currently playing Saints Row on the PS3. My boyfriend & I have been playing it NONSTOP since getting it at our local GameStop! It's phenomenal, seriously. I personally love it because it gives you so many customization options for almost everything: your character, vehicle, weapons -

E V E R Y T H I N G !

Saints Row has a ton of side missions and this really keeps the game a great length. Also, the side missions are extremely fun & really take your mind away from the main plot of the game - which to me is awesome because when you try & play a game straight through in one day you normally want to take a break for a bit right? Maybe that's just me but with the cool side missions available like flinging yourself around the city streets being told to destroy as much as possible with your body - that's a damn fun break! You also get a ranking of Bronze, Silver or Gold for each side mission - so if you want to you can play them all again and again until you get to Gold which, of course, unlocks some sweet stuff for you in the game.

Also - did you know about the alien twist that comes with this game? Yes! Aliens have been introduced in the 4th installment of the game, so that means powerful, kickass alien weapons! Do I need say more?

The upgrades in this game are insane, INSANE. In the best way possible! In video games I love huge open worlds and tons of upgrades. You can become so powerful and that's one of the addictive features of the game. You want to keep getting more and more powerful. You develop a thirst to keep going to unlock all of the powers and max out each one with every upgrade available.

The only thing that kind of bugged me about this game at first was it's almost a direct replica of the Matrix Trilogy. You plug yourself into a data filled world & have to break the system from within. BUT, throughout the game - the main characters crack jokes towards themselves about how similar the game & the movie are...so that made me not be as upset about it.

We have not beat the game yet..but I already recommend this game to anybody who has already played the previous games & loves the series. Or if you're looking for a new game to dive into - this will NOT be a let down. I promise! What is your favorite part about the latest Saints Row?
