TAKE THE V

Valentine's Day is JUST around the corner. The 14th can be divided into two categories of people:

There is no in between whatsoever. But, if you're one of those people in the second category - I'm here to help! Valentine's Day is not just for those who have a significant other, no no no no no. It is about showing those you care about that you do in fact love them and are grateful to have them in your life because let's face it - sometimes we take people for granted. Valentine's Day is a slap in your face if you're someone who is not too keen on letting those close to you know you are appreciative.

I try my best to never take anyone for granted and to let those who I care about know I love them, but it's hard with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So, this post is going to help those of you are are uber excited for V-tines Day because you have that special someone AND those who are single and/or trying to mingle.

I'm the kind of person who tries my best to spoil my man with affection, because I never want him to forget! I also love giving people gifts and surprises, and seeing their face light up after their gift(s) are revealed. It does take a while to think of that special something sometimes, because you don't want to give something insincere - sometimes that is just as bad as forgetting the holiday all together.

Personalizing a gift with your love's favorite color, character, hobby, or an inside joke is the best way to go! Whatever THEY love, make sure to incorporate in the gift you are giving. Handmade gifts are also a cheaper way to go and are (in my opinion) more heartfelt then a store bought gift.

If you are planning a fun adventure, be sure to keep these two things in mind:

1. Will this be fun for the BOTH of you?

2. How is this romantic for this special, corny day?

Keeping it simple is ALWAYS perfect too! Sending surprise flowers, chocolates or a sing-a-gram to your Valentine's work or school is very sweet. Or maybe going all out decorating their room with Valentine-esque things such as red candles, pink balloons, rose pedals, a heart garland, and cooking their favorite meal for them.

I really could go on and on and on with lists of ideas, but I think this would have to be the top 3. If you still feel stuck - go to Pinterest and just type in "Valentine's Day" - people post up things they have done / made and it's really an inspiring place.

Celebrate your besties of course! Send out some cute, witty Valentine's Day cards with a piece of candy on each. Or get a big group of people and hit up the beach, movies, or your usual hang out! Stay in for a movie night and order take out! The point is, this holiday is NOT for couples only! You've gotta show the love to your friends too.

If you are trying to go out on a date though, why not hit up your crush? Valentine's Day is like a free pass card in a certain aspect. Girls / guys usually NEVER say no to a date on this day! Take that person you've been drooling over for weeks out to a nice dinner (make reservations soon though) or go star gazing at night (that's free!) Seriously, if anytime is the right time to ask someone out - it's Valentine's Day. A lot of people I know had their first date on the 14th, and that's because it's just such a joyful / cute way to start a relationship with someone.

I hope this helped you out if you're in a slump for the pinkest holiday of the year! Comment with what YOU plan to do for Valentine's Day this year or things you have done in the past! Or what your favorite pick up line is. See ya next week cutie patooties c:
