I wasn't planning on doing an unboxing post on Loot Crate again, but this month's was just too perfect to not share with everybody.
For those unaware, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box that delivers all of your nerdy desires straight to your pad. For $21 a month (that's including shipping), you receive trinkets, apparel, posters, gear and really anything the team at Loot Crate feels like putting in their box at that time. There's a different theme each month as well - this month's was Villains 2. The first time Loot Crate did a "Villains" theme, it was so popular and in demand that they decided to release a second one and boy did it not disappoint.
For August's Crate, there wasn't as much material stuff as usual - but I was totally okay with this since the items were outstanding.
Here is everything together. I should of taken a picture pre-taking everything out but I'm impatient and also five years old so I couldn't WAIT.
The very first thing I took out of the box was this incredible Hydra pin. It's from eFX Collectibles and is perfect for so many different things! Backpacks, jeans, vests, purses, or even just keeping in the box to display on your #shelfie at home - it's badass looking and is a great talking piece.
The next thing I pulled out is an adorable Joker Wooden Figure from DC Collectibles. The Joker is my all time favorite villain for sure, so you can only imagine the delight on my face when I saw this unique little figure waiting for me to unwrap it. All of the different sections of his body are posable and it comes with interchangeable heads: take notice that one mouth says, "Heehee" and the other, "haha". AMAZEBALLS.
The biggest package in the box was this mug. You either received Venom or Carange this month (Loot Crate enjoys having a random item that not everybody gets the same thing of each month.) I obviously received Carnage. These mugs are courtesy of Surreal Entertainment and it's freaking cool as shit. Look at that beautiful, mischievous grin. I don't drink coffee or tea at all, but oddly enough enjoy collecting mugs so this will fit perfectly in my kitchen cabinet awaiting for some juice to fill it.
^So model, so Vogue.
I saved the best for last. LOOK AT THIS APRON. LOOK AT IT! From the shop, 50/Fifty, this brightly colored apron that's from one of the best shows ever made, Breaking Bad, is so perfect for us who feel at home in the kitchen. If you're not a cook (drug related or food related...) - it's still super awesome to have hanging up in your crib.
Of course every month includes a booklet that walks your through your new treasures, what the Mega Crate is for the current month, and some other little games. Loot Crate always has a custom pin made too so you can remember the theme from each month. I'm definitely keeping the pamphlet this time around not only for the stellar Joker cover art but there's a game inside where you match Villains to their quotes. I found it really entertaining so I want to throw it on my bookshelf.
Loot Crate does this thing where you can turn the box inside out to create a cool scene to collect as well. I honestly normally am not interested in this. I throw away all of my boxes due to living in a small apartment and on top of that, the box art usually doesn't stand out to me. However, this month is...well..me to a tee! I'm obsessed with the quirky, neon coloring and the entire design involving the Joker and Harley Quinn. It also reminds me of my favorite holiday, Halloween, so I just can't part ways with it.
That's August's Loot Crate and if you're jealous, I don't blame you. Let's be real. You can sign up for Loot Crate on their site,
. It's neat because you can pay for a year, six month, or one month subscription on there so if you're unsure if it's for you - you can just do month to month and cancel at anytime. I highly suggest it though if you're a geek like myself. It's so exciting getting a treasure trove of surprises delivered to you once a month. It's a great gift idea too - definitely more unique then a gift card, but probably not as practical as a nice bottle of whiskey. Try it out yourself and let me know what your favorite item was this month. Remember to #staynerdy and thanks for reading!
