Loot Crate: April 2015

I've been meaning to post about Loot Crate since I first started this blog. Unfortunately I'm pretty broke and had to stop subscribing for a long time. But...my wonderful boyfriend surprised me with a 6 month subscription to Loot Crate again! I literally just opened it and had to start reviewing it for you all.

To all of you n00bz, let me explain briefly what Loot Crate is all about. Monthly subscription boxes are becoming majorly popular. From makeup to pet toys to nerd swag - you can get little goodies delivered to your door once a month from 13-45 dollars a box - that's pretty awesome, right? #thefuture #america

So Loot Crate is in the nerd-ing category of monthly subscription boxes. It covers almost all geeks out there: film, video games, board games, comics, TV shows, and so on. You pay $21 (that includes shipping) each month and Loot Crate will deliver a fun box of nick nacks to your door. You can cancel at any time and the customer service at Loot Crate is so impeccable - if you ever have an issue they kindly walk you through it and solve it in a timely manner.

Each month has a different theme. The theme for this month was Fantasy. ( You can see all of the past themes and what was inside each box on Loot Crate's site, if you are curious. ) This included memorabilia from the classic Dungeons & Dragons, The Princess Bride, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones. I love all  of these things so I was beyond thrilled when my boyfriend told me to expect a surprise in the mail!

My crate arrived today, the 20th of April. I carefully and slowly opened my sleek, black box and sifted through all of the nerd stuff. I was so happy! Here's what was inside:

The suspense is killing me!

How perfect is this Princes Bride card set?

But how awesome am I going to look rocking this D&D bow?

My fridge will be so *cool* with these ravish magnets.

The pins are my favorite part because they remind you of what month / theme that particular crate was.

My two faves! My 9 3/4 luggage tag (happily residing on my purse) and this GoT USB flash drive. It's 4GB and I'm going to take it EVERYWHERE.

I look forward to my next 5 months and am crossing my fingers that I can get another six after my subscription has expired. I wish they would focus more on just video games, if I had to be a picky, negative Nancy. That's what I really loved about Loot Crate originally. But it's smart marketing to expand the geek-dom, right?

Don't forget that if you subscribe to Loot Crate (even just the e-mail newsletter), each month you'll be entered for their "Mega Crate" - which is always a beautiful thing to see. This month's Mega Crate had over $2500 worth of gear! It features a CUSTOM built gaming PC, a Razer gaming keyboard and mouse, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game, and TWO Asus monitors. WHAT?! Every month their Mega Crate is that extraordinary. back when all of the new consoles were being released the Mega Crate was an Xbox One AND PS4. I really wished to have won that month..but alas, maybe another time.

Anyway - sign up today for a guaranteed $40 worth of stellar collectibles for only 1/3 of that price. Remember to stay #nerdy and comment below with your favorite subscription box or your fave item from this month's Loot. Mine was definitely the USB drive.
